Lu Kang of the Han

Father of Lu Ji and granduncle of Lu Xun, Lu Kang was the Administrator of Lijiang Commandery in the end of the Han dynasty. He was born in 126 AD and died in 195 AD at the ripe old age of sixty-nine. He had a number of military accomplishments and was accordingly rewarded for them by leaders of the Han dynasty. Though he technically lived before the start of the Three Kingdoms Period, he is still worth mentioning, for when chaos was starting to envelop the land with the Han dynasty falling, he held out against Sun Ce’s conquest of the land for two years.

Lu Kang had two sons, Lu Jun and Lu Ji, but he also adopted Lu Xun after his parents died.
